About
Hi, I’m Valen (well, just a nickname I used online). I’m a freelance medical writer, housewife and blogger. Although I have been trained in the scientific field, I always believe there is an artist living in me, hehe. ;P
It seems that I have learned a bit of everything (well, not ‘everything’, but several things) over the past few years - oil painting, clay crafts, glass painting, etc. However, I find it difficult to keeping this artistic activities alive with my present living environment.
For example, to do oil painting or glass painting, you need a place that is well ventilated. To do this in an apartment is going to make the whole living space smell of kerosene.
To play around with polymer clay is fun. You can make figurines or beads (for jewelry) out of it, but you need an oven to bake the clay in order to harden the clay and set whatever you’ve shaped. Presently, I have no space for even a small oven in my kitchen.
So, before I move into a bigger place that will allow me to ‘rekindle’ the old passion with painting and baking clay, haha, I decided to pick up a new craft that doesn’t take up much space or cause foul smell in where I live.
Jewelry making it is!
I have zero experience in this, and I know there will be so much for me to learn (especially learning on my own). Hopefully I could master the skills in the time to come, and eventually be able to produce my own range of jewelry for some business opportunities.
