Beads and Wires

I bought a bracelet DIY kit from the shop of Beading.com.my @Berjaya Times Square, KL.

This kit costs RM17, providing all the embellishments (crystals and beads) and findings necessary to create a simple but lovely purple crystal bracelet (there are other color options). It comes with a printed instruction on how to thread the crystals and beads, exactly what I needed to learn the basic of threading beads and the correct technique of securing a knot with the right type of clasp. There are also other patterns of bracelet available at different prices. The more complicated ones are more expensive, of course, but I think they are all below RM30 (if I remember correctly, that is).

So this is my ‘masterpiece’. Haha! It looks absolutely beautiful to me, but I knew I didn’t do it right! If you look carefully, you will notice the difference between my bracelet and the one shown in their instruction. Mine formed a simple straight line, while the actual one has some up-and-down configuration and the ‘hearts’ are close to each other.

According to the instruction, I should criss-cross the lines between the different color sets of crystals. But I didn’t follow the instruction, hehe. Not because I didn’t want to, just that it’s so confusing to differentiate which string is which since they are both the same in color!

Another possible ‘mistake’ I made is may be I didn’t pull the strings tight enough.

Anyway, since I already know the steps to making this bracelet, I can practice again with crystals of other colors and sizes. Okay, will try to do the criss-cross step, too.
