Necklace with handblown glass beads

November 20, 2009 By: Valen Category: Necklace No Comments →

A simple two-strand necklace made from exquisite handblown glass beads and seed beads. Other materials included bugle beads, metal beads and bead caps. This will look nice on a plain white top, preferably with collar.

Simple bicone crystal pendant necklace

November 11, 2009 By: Valen Category: crsytal pendant necklace No Comments →

The pendant for this simple necklace is made with 4mm bicone crystals using the easy weaving technique used to make the earrings shown in the previous post. Instead of having just 2 rounds with 6 bicones each (6 olive green, 6 smoked topaz), I added another 6 olive green bicones.

I think the combination of olive green and smoked topaz colored crystals plus the antique copper findings has given this piece some Indian taste. ;)

Necklaces - one for sister, one for myself

June 03, 2008 By: Valen Category: Necklace No Comments →

Have done two projects on necklace - one was a ‘revamp’ of my sister’s old pearl necklace, the other one was a bead necklace for myself. ;)

Pearl necklace

Pearl necklace - champagne & white

It was originally a kinda old-looking, champagne-colored, irregular-shaped pearl necklace, given to my sister from her future mother-in-law. I restring the pearls with fishing line, added white round pearls and some metal spacers, and it ended up with a new look. I didn’t do a good job on the clasp though, coz firstly, I used the wrong clasps, and secondly, I’m not familiar with fastening strings and knots. Will practice more on that. ;)

Bead necklace

Bead necklace

This is kinda simple, just connect beads (or any other embellishments you like) of different sizes and colors of your choice using the very basic looping techniques. Will wear this out this weekend. ;)
