Busy with work

If you are wondering why I’ve been so quiet here recently, that is because I’ve been tied up with writing assignments for the past couple of weeks, and will still be so for another few days. It is important that I accomplish these assignments well and on time as it is my primary source of income these days! :P

Without these assignments, I won’t have money to buy the materials and tools for my beading projects. The next jewelry making tool I intend to get is a jewelry wire jig! :D Would like to learn some wire works with the help of a wire jig.

Anyway, I finally completed the seed bead flower I began making 3 or 4 weeks ago (sorry, no photo to show). :P I was slow, I know, making a petal a day. Haha! I don’t know why, but the last beads were so difficult to pass through, I tried and tried until my eyes became so tired I thought I was going blind! Haha! But then, it was fun making a flower like that, I think I will make another one or two in different colors, hehe.

Oh, I forgot to mention that pattern for the seed bead flower is from the magazine Beadwork, April-May 2009 issue. It is a bracelet project, but I think I just want to make two or three flowers, and perhaps sew them onto my tote. :)

That’s the bracelet project made up of 12 beaded flowers

Another rest day without beading

oh dear, I think this will be another unproductive week for me in terms of beading. :(

I don’t know what I did, but I must have done something that hurt the muscles stretching from the neck to the shoulder on my right side.  Now I have swollen and painful and stiff shoulder and neck! I now have to slightly tilt my head to the right side all day long, whether I’m walking, sitting or typing this post. I suppose one can still do beading work with the head tilted, haha! But, no, I think this is a very awkward position to do things at, and I don’t want to hurt the other side of my shoulder.

I should rest and not strain my neck and shoulders anymore. May be I can just do some reading on beading techniques today. Hope I will feel much better tomorrow to work on a new beading project.

My beads from London

Beads from London! Beads from London! :P

Yes, got my hands on a bunch of beads I asked my sister to buy (at her own tasteful choice) from the Bead Shop @ Covent Garden, London. I’ve taken photos of them, but I’m afraid I can only post the photos here later coz my digital camera battery just went flat! (Charging the battery now!)

Anyway, all I can say is that I’ve never seen similar beads sold on Beading.com.my or my favorite merchants on eBay Malaysia. And that makes these ‘Beads from London!’ so special. :D Of course, the beads are not cheap too when you convert the pounds back to ringgit. It totals up to over RM200, but my sister agreed that I paid only half of the amount (the other half is considered as her gift to me). That’s so generous of her. :)

I wonder if Beadbox at One Utama carries those type of beads and how’s the product prices range, as I have never really looked into the store despite it has been present for a long time. Okay then, to Beadbox I shall go tomorrow!

Meanwhile, I will just check out the online product catalog from Bead Shop London. You should too, because their beads are sooooo beautiful! :)

(p.s. I will try to get the photos of my London beads up ASAP. Stay tuned!)
