My Precioussssss….

I’m exhausted! Spent some time last night and the whole of this morning sorting out my ‘collection’ of jewelry making supplies. I didn’t expect this kind of task to be so tiring…

I decided to create a jewelry supply inventory for my precious ‘collection’ because I want to keep track and compare the price of the jewelry making supplies I purchased from different suppliers. The materials are all stuffed in storage boxes and caddies. Most of them are still wrapped up in their packaging with price tags on it, haha!

Oh well, this actually made my job a whole lot easier as I was able to jot down - besides the name of the supplier and item description - I can also mark down their quantity, price, and thus unit price. There is another reason that I’m doing creating this jewelry inventory. Just in case, in the future, someone is interested in my creations and wants to buy them, at least I will know the minimum price to ask for.

So far 50% of my jewelry making supplies are mainly bought through Beading.com.my (just ordered some two weeks ago and received the package last week). The rests were purchased from eBay merchants, Jaya Jusco and a kiosk in Gurney Plaza (while I was in Penang).

Actually now I’m very excited, not because that I have finished working on my jewelry inventory (duh!), but because my sister who went to UK for work for 3 weeks, is now back and - upon my request - she has brought back some beading materials from Bead Shop in London!

Beads from London!!! That’s so cool! I think I should go and collect them tomorrow at my mom’s house.

Well, they’re just pretending to, haha!

Sorry for this out-of-topic post! Just thought that I want to introduce some of my ‘cutest of companions’ at home.

A body-less dog head (previously attached to one out of a pair of slippers), the brothers that escaped from Sesame Street, and a Moo-Moo Black Cow traveled all the way from Malacca to KL… Hahaha!

They watch over me every day while I work on my laptop…

Haha! It’s another 3 full months between this and the last post! That tells a lot about how much time I spent on making jewelry huh? None! Haha!

Except for this week. I actually made a set of earrings, necklace and bracelet with some cheap plastic beads bought from Jaya Jusco. All done in one day!

I have also tried to do some simple beading, weaving plastic seed beads (I hope that’s what they are called) into a one-dimensional miniature dress and student jumper. Beads were also bought from Jaya Jusco @ RM1.

Unfortunately, in this post I can’t show yet what I’ve done, still haven’t taken the photos. My digital camera battery went flat that day, and these two days I have been out of the house from morning till night, so no time to take any photos. Even this post I’m writing in Starbucks @SS2, hahaha!

Anywayyyyy…… I think (think only la) I will spend more time playing around with those little beads coz weaving beads is quite meditative. You’ll be so focused on the beads and the string until you forgot about your worries, forgot about doing house work and that it’s time to prepare dinner. Hahaha!
