Simple bracelet with donut shaped crystals

November 11, 2009 By: Valen Category: Bracelet

Jeez, updating blog posts is so exhausting! :P I think I will stop after this one, and continue to update on the remaining projects tomorrow, perhaps. ;)

This is a bracelet employing very simple stringing and wirework techniques. As you can see, you just have to string the donut shaped crystals, small metal beads and bicone crystals (with wire loops) with either flexible beading wire or nylon fishing line.

This bracelet sparkles brightly under the light, goes well with evening dress with matching colors. :)

Simple bicone crystal pendant necklace

November 11, 2009 By: Valen Category: crsytal pendant necklace

The pendant for this simple necklace is made with 4mm bicone crystals using the easy weaving technique used to make the earrings shown in the previous post. Instead of having just 2 rounds with 6 bicones each (6 olive green, 6 smoked topaz), I added another 6 olive green bicones.

I think the combination of olive green and smoked topaz colored crystals plus the antique copper findings has given this piece some Indian taste. ;)

Vintage look, round yellow crystal earrings

While the previous pair of vintage look earrings were made with simple wire work and linking techniques, this one involved a bit of bead weaving.

I love making this because it’s so easy and uses minimal beading materials - just any round beads in the range of 4mm-6mm in size (depending on the size of earrings you want to make), seed beads, earring findings and beading thread.

The weaving technique is a very basic one. Do it two times and you will remember it forever! :)  I can apply this beading technique on other types of beads, including pearls and bicone crystals.  I can also expand the structure by adding another round of beads on the outer layer. It’s really a very versatile pattern indeed. In fact, I’ve used the exact same pattern to make a pendant for a necklace, which will be shown in my next post.
