Did some bead weaving this week
Haha! It’s another 3 full months between this and the last post! That tells a lot about how much time I spent on making jewelry huh? None! Haha!
Except for this week. I actually made a set of earrings, necklace and bracelet with some cheap plastic beads bought from Jaya Jusco. All done in one day!
I have also tried to do some simple beading, weaving plastic seed beads (I hope that’s what they are called) into a one-dimensional miniature dress and student jumper. Beads were also bought from Jaya Jusco @ RM1.
Unfortunately, in this post I can’t show yet what I’ve done, still haven’t taken the photos.
My digital camera battery went flat that day, and these two days I have been out of the house from morning till night, so no time to take any photos. Even this post I’m writing in Starbucks @SS2, hahaha!
Anywayyyyy…… I think (think only la) I will spend more time playing around with those little beads coz weaving beads is quite meditative. You’ll be so focused on the beads and the string until you forgot about your worries, forgot about doing house work and that it’s time to prepare dinner. Hahaha!

Hi Valen
I am a beginner too, just started to do research on jewelry making, haven’t get my hands-on yet. Can you tell me where to get the wire cutter, flat-nose plier, and round-nose plier? Are they found in sewing supplies shop or hardware store? I want to purchase these from stores rather than online.

Hello Rene! Thanks for dropping by my blog.
I assume you’re from KL? I bought my wire cutter and pliers from different shops in 1 Utama. I can’t remember the shop name of the first one,
the other shop is Craft Haven, located at 2nd Floor, along the ‘bridge’ between the old wing and new wing. I don’t know if they still have stock available because they are not specialized in jewelry making supply.
I know you don’t intend to buy from the internet, I will still like to recommend you to try http://beading.com.my. They do have a store in Berjaya Time Square, you can visit their shop to get various tools or supply for jewelry making. But do note that they only accept cash, no credit card payment. Their shop is located at:
Lot 82, 4th Floor, Berjaya Times Square
No:1, Jalan Imbi, 55100 Kuala Lumpur
Fax: 03-20969172
Hope you will get the supplies you need soon.
